This page explains what homvo stores on your device and why, on homvo.co.uk and in the homvo app. It covers cookies and other technologies that store or read information on your device, including software development kits, local storage and push notification tokens. Not everything listed here applies to both — some items are used only on the website.

Summary: we use only what is needed to make homvo work, plus aggregated statistics that help us improve it. We ask for your consent before anything optional, including personalisation and targeting.

We also use a small number of other strictly necessary cookies from the categories below. These are set automatically by the services that run the site and cannot be disabled without affecting how the site works.

• Video delivery: set by our video hosting and streaming service, to load and play video content on the site.
• Security & infrastructure: set by our hosting and content delivery services (e.g. bot protection, load balancing) to keep the site secure and running reliably.

Analytics & Personalisation (only with your consent) — homvo.co.uk only

These cookies help us understand how you use our site and build a profile of your home preferences, so we can personalise your experience with relevant recommendations. If you consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it, a cookie to personalise the homes we show you and how they're ranked, based on your browsing and saved-home activity, and a cookie from our video analytics provider (Mux Data) to understand video playback and viewing engagement. Until you consent, none of this runs and no requests leave your device.

Retention: for registered users, this is kept until your account is deleted. For visitors without an account, it is deleted or anonymised after 12 months of inactivity.

Targeting (only with your consent) — homvo.co.uk only

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners below. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant homvo adverts on other sites (remarketing). Until you consent, none of these run and no data is sent to these platforms.

These durations are set by each platform, not by homvo, and may change at any time without notice from the provider.

Statistics — homvo.co.uk only

We also use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand overall usage and improve homvo (visits, pages viewed, device type). These are aggregated statistics about how homvo is used, not about who uses it. They are not linked to your identity, and are never used or shared for advertising. Umami does not set cookies; it reads a single setting stored on your device to remember if you have opted out.

If you'd prefer not to be included, you can turn this off any time under 'Statistics' in 'Privacy Settings' in the footer.

Underlying session and event records are kept for up to 45 days, then aggregated and deleted. The resulting aggregated statistics do not identify anyone and are not subject to a retention limit.

What we never use

• Sale of your browsing data.
• Cross-site tracking beyond the consented Targeting cookies listed above.
• Push notifications, unless you explicitly turn them on.

Managing storage yourself

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Clearing local storage will remove guest saves that haven't been merged into an account. You can also change your cookie choices – including switching Targeting cookies on or off – at any time via 'Privacy Settings' in the footer.
